ARTS Studio (for Teens & Tweens)
 
ARTS Studio is designed with Multi-Media Art Workshops including visual arts, film/video/digital photography, culinary, creative writing and performing arts. Workshops are typically 5 weeks long & offered to ages 10-18.
Workshops include: Xpress U, Creative Writing, "Artworks .. for Teen"s &
"Artworks ... for Tweens" (visual arts), & Culinary Arts! Check out the descriptions below.

Mondays

Free Art Classes for Teen Girls
w/ Tara Carroll: Express yourself! Art, journaling, expressive writing, & music. Explore common teen themes, issues & interests! Small groups…bring a friend!
On-going weekly. Mondays from 4:00-6:00 p.m TIME JUST 4 U! Use your creativity to express yourself!
Funding is provided by the Michigan Women's Foundation. To date the
foundation has granted more than $3 million to over 400 nonprofit
organizations serving women and girls throughout Michigan.www.miwf.org
Tuesdays
- Young Women Writing for (a) Change: Creative Writing Workshop
- Anni Gibson
Young Women Writing for (a) Change provides writing programs for teen women to help them write and speak with an authentic voice. Young women are supported in their writing through writing prompts, conversations about writing and about being a young woman, and by participating in a “small group” of three or four peers where they can share their writing out loud and be heard. We engage young writers in a supportive writing community based upon acceptance and deep listening.
- 5 Weeks, Oct 7 – Nov 4, 4-5:30/6pm

Thursdays
- Vegetarian Cooking / Baking - Melissa Denton: This is a five week course focusing on vegetarian cooking and “whole foods” baking geared towards 10-15 year olds. A lot of “tweens” and teens are choosing a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. This course aims to educate them of healthy food choices within the vegetarian diet and enough basic cooking skills and kitchen knowledge to prepare well balanced meals for themselves.
- 5 Weeks, Oct 23 – Nov 20, 4-6:30pm
- $100 plus $50 material fee, participants: min 6/max 12 – Ages 10-15

If you value the Arts and the Creative Opportunities this brings to children's lives, Studio 7 Arts offers sponsor opportunities to help support this valuable program for our community.
Currently, we are offering a sessions throughout the school year. In order to keep the costs affordable and make the program available to deserving children/families by scholarship, we need the support of the community.
